This course meets the standards for the National Association of REALTORS® Code of Ethics Requirement, Cycle 7. We will review the history of the Code of Ethics as it relates to its origins, its influence on state licensing laws and its establishment of arbitration as the monetary dispute resolution process between REALTORS®. Finally, we will apply the REALTOR® Code of Ethics Articles to everyday real estate practices.
Note: The Code of Ethics renewal has moved from a 2-year to a 3-year requirement; Cycle 7 began in 2022 and ends in 2024.

This course explores theories behind why the market reacts the way it does and why buyers and sellers make certain decisions. You will gain knowledge of how the rise and fall of interest rates can cause a drastic effect on home prices and demand. We will suggest strategies to help clients reach an agreement with their counterpart in a negotiation.

Assisting a buyer on a new home can be a challenge and varies greatly from a typical resale inspection; the home buyer has high expectations of the finished product and those need to be managed. Navigating the relationship with the home builder takes an experienced approach with a different purchase agreement, timing milestones and general considerations.
A knowledgeable agent can help make this transaction easier and help their client set reasonable expectations.

We will review the best practices in tenant relations to improve the agent’s leasing success. Finally, this course will expand on the importance of the property manager’s responsibility to account for funds received and disbursed in the transaction.
