This course aims to focus on the importance and history of the Federal Fair Housing Act and its application in today’s real estate environment. We will discuss how the Department of Housing and Urban Development enforces the Federal Fair Housing Act as well as review the most common discriminatory practices like service and assistive animals and how to best handle a reasonable accommodation request. We will also examine examples of Federal Fair Housing complaints and discuss Federal Fair Housing initiatives and resources.

This course will identify the differences and similarities between the three credit reporting agencies to know what is included and excluded in a free credit report. We will also review how to properly read a credit report, how to spot errors, and who to contact to get those errors corrected. Finally, we will investigate the truth behind many credit myths agents and borrowers have such as, “why all debt is not treated equal” and “closing old accounts will help my credit score.”
